Byron L. Mills,     Member / Partner

As partner and managing member of Mills & Mills, one of the most well respected family law firms in Nevada, Byron Mills has become well known in Clark County as a top litigator in the local courts. A fifth generation native of Nevada, Byron started working at his father’s law firm in 1987 as a runner, and then upon graduating law school in 1998, joined the firm, then known as Lamond R. Mills & Associates, L.L.C. as an associate.

While 95% of his practice is focused on family law matters, Byron also assists in the firm’s civil cases, including personal injury, corporate and public utility issues. He has taken numerous cases to trial in both the Civil and Family Divisions of the Nevada Eighth Judicial District Court and has briefed and argued before U.S. District Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco.

One of the things that set Byron apart from other attorneys is his degree in Business Management and Finance. This experience has helped him in representing clients that own businesses and have numerous assets, whether it be in divorces or other family matters. With his practice having such an emphasis on divorce, he handles everything from complicated situations with issues involving custody and business properties as well as simple, uncontested cases.

Byron is a board member of the Nevada Policy Research Institute (NPRI), a nonprofit group that focuses on improving education in Nevada and keeping taxes from being unreasonably or irresponsibility increased. In addition, he is helping his hometown of Logandale with several education initiatives, as well as possible incorporation.

Byron received his bachelor of science in Business Management/Finance from Brigham Young University and his juris doctor from Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, NE. He and his wife live in Logandale, NV with their four girls.
